Golden Gate proudly offers the service of selling horses on consignment and shopping for horses for clients in the market.
Alexa is an agent/ broker for sales horses; partnered with multiple investment companies, she imports horses she scouts from her trusted partners in Europe to bring the next generation of young horses to the United States.
After bringing them along and showing them at the international venues Florida has to offer, they are marketed and sold, and with Alexa’s background in the legal field gives a trustworthy sense of relief that is refreshing in the equine industry.
Alexa participates in all phases of horse sales or leases: trialing the horse, researching the horse’s background, reviewing medical history, being present for current vetting, negotiating, transactional work, and contracts/ agreements. “Florida legal statutes are often not followed or included in most Bills of Sale. I see a lot of one-page “as-is” contracts, and buyers who don’t know any better sign what they’re given and don’t ask questions. With us you’ll know it’s been reviewed, and terms will be added that follow Florida’s guidelines so no buyers or sellers are taken advantage of. I operate a lot differently than most trainers and agents: I negotiate sales prices without affecting any commissions due to working on a retainer when horse shopping on behalf of clients. That way, I get paid for my time and there’s no worry that the price of a horse is not what it’s worth so I get a commission out of it that’s higher. When I am sent a horse to sell, my consignment agreement demands all the medical history of the horse, and I research it so I know what I’m selling to someone. It’s full disclosure, or I won’t take it in. The industry needs to change. Even if I am a small change for it I hope I’m the one everyone knows is reliable.”
